Fidgeter 05:00
Hiding static Under macro-level motion Restless fingers compensate for lack of motivation Maintain a steady rate of sly deceleration Inertia never told me where to go, So I found a happy medium 'less I let myself know. Tap, tap, tap to the beat of stasis in denial And these indentations had me fooled all the while. Constant whirling, And still. And I'm scoping out any trace of will. But I can't seem to push my surroundings behind my view, So I sit like a log waiting for somebody else to. Driving myself crazy in the absence of drive Passive thought won't move me. Stagnant but eroding. Inertia never told me where to go, So I found a happy medium 'less I let myself know. Tap, tap, tap to the beat of stasis in denial And these indentations had me fooled... These little tiny movements are simply irony Just many shaking pixels painting paradox on giant static screen (Proven paralytic, collecting dust on dreams The most piercing pointed needle is no match for threadless seams.)

Get back, get back, I'll take my chances with martyrs rather than meddle with the likes of you. You sell non-fiction but it couldn't be farther The truth eludes the mind it can't travel through. Your hole's been dug, now lie in it I'll bet the world looks much different up here. While you're blissfully stuck in the dark, Spade kept tight and near Throwing dirt at those above No path, no empathy to claim behind your words Just know it's not unexpected of you. Your mind deludes itself, you're one of the "smarter men" Clear eyes elude the mind they can see through. Your hole's been dug, now lie in it I'll bet the world looks much different up here But you're blissfully stuck in the dark, Spade kept tight and near. You're stuck between two legs that shut you out from the world One is self-assurance; and the other, ignorant bliss. And you'll stay happily stricken dumb enclosed in that dark canal you've made your home, Until you fall out feet first onto the blinding floor (Grab for a forgiving hand and miss).

Consider it a resolution Ill-timed and poor execution, But I will still do my best to be a better person. 'Cause words are weightless, but hold the worth of networks damaged. Words with two faces make being decent hard to manage. Talking to friends behind the backs of other ones, Just make sure you're taking turns each time you point the gun. But I'm thinking bad habits should break, Can't wear our crooked faces and then put on that they're straight. We're all guilty in the game that we play, just don't expect them to look you in the face the same... Oh, but we keep it up. And it's so easy when routine sets in without a second thought. Save your complaints and submit them to the grievance club Circle jerk it to the rhythm of a broken drum. So make another revolution everyone, A chain of none-the-wiser friends shitting on the last one. Why would it ever change? So keep on beating your dead horses everyone When all you see are empty seats, you'll see that no one's won. It's how the system's run. But I'm thinking bad habits should break. Can't wear our crooked faces and then put on that they're straight. We're all guilty in the game that we play, but I'll do my best to refrain. Just don't expect them to look you in the face the same way.

And you will find once your eyes have adjusted to the light, what once was lit golden will burn out bright.

Home grown, warm tones Inside, light shone Dust rose, blinds close Inside, peace grows. Once homes, stripped barren of the root foundation All the tenants have since been erased to make room for new keepers who will sate your vacant space. It can't exist in time and place with you. Renew. Replay lost frames Keeps my mind safe. Once homes, burned barren; only vacant spaces. All the tenants have since been erased to make room for new keepers who will sate your missing face. It can't exist in time and place with you. Still I picture walls and fixtures

We craft the glasses we wear, our reality in the lens A nearsighted vision based on our own perception The air tells the truth. Our glasses thicken and bend the normal away. We cast our own roles The hero or the villain. For whose sake do we perpetuate? This life is not a stage. We craft the glasses we wear All deluded, all in vain. But the light could never make it past that which refracts, and we can know not a thing to be true And not a pair of eyes can be seen through. We cast our own roles The hero or the villain. For whose sake do we perpetuate? This life is not a stage. But we couldn't see the actors even if it was, So we craft the lens ourselves. Eyes closed tight, refracting all light Lead blinded by our design. No we couldn't see the actors, not with open eyes So we cast the roles ourselves Open wide, spectrum shut And lines come easy like the dark.

It strikes me as funny, the inevitability of what you said would never be Knowing you were trying so intently to convince yourself more than me But it's shining through the window. So I'll do my best to adjust to the light I'd rather avoid your spite at the cost of my comfort But I'll be gaining more than I spend from the ties I keep close instead of having to mend. It struck me dumb how swiftly the current shifts Nothing golden ever stays lit. And now you spend the bulk of your days contradicting yourself to anyone who has the misfortune of being bored enough to listen. But it's shining through the window. So I'll do my best to adjust to the light I'd rather avoid a fight at the cost of my comfort But I'll be gaining more than I spend, when I keep close the ties I save myself from having to mend. The light is changing my view And no more will I let you or this constant strife devoid of light have bearing on my mood. The light is changing my view. It's shining through.
